HaemoCer Haemostatic Powder

HaemoCer is an Absorbable Polysaccharide Haemostat (APH) and it has been created using BioCer’s Polysaccharide Ultra-hydrophilic Resorbable Engineering (PURE) process. HaemoCer™ APH incorporates a sophisticated, plant-based polymer crosslinking that creates ultra-hydrophilic, biocompatible particles.

Upon contact with blood HaemoCer™ enhances the natural clotting cascade by rapidly dehydrating the blood and accelerating the concentration of platelets, red blood cells and coagulation proteins at the bleeding site.

HaemoCer™ also rapidly produces a gelled matrix that adheres to and forms a mechanical barrier with the bleeding tissue. HaemoCer™ contains no animal or human components and is rapidly reabsorbed by the body. It is fully CE Approved and is made in Germany to very high standards of purity

Key Benefits

Safety - contains no animal or human components, utilising a purified plant source material is critical to minimising the risks of infection and bleeding-related complications during surgery. Rapidly resorbed and irrigated with saline rinse.

Efficacy –Rapid Dual action mechanism.  Ultra-hydrophilic nature enhances and accelerates the clotting cascade, coupled with the formation of a gelled matrix, which forms a mechanical barrier to bleeding.

Ease of Use – No Prep or special storage requirements. Off-the-shelf deployment.

Diverse range of applications – suitable for a broad range of surgical procedures including (but not limited to) abdominal, cardiac, ENT, general, gynaecology, hepatic, orthopaedic, thoracic, transplant, urology, neurology and vascular

Rapid acting, safe and easy to use - dehydrates blood and forms a gel matrix barrier over the bleeding site. Reabsorbed within 48 hours

  1. Remove all excess blood from the site of the bleeding
  2. Immediately apply a liberal amount of HaemoCer   directly to the source of the bleeding
  3. Apply appropriate pressure over the wound by using a dry gauze
  4. Before removing the gauze, irrigation is recommended to dissolve adhesions to the gauze
  5. Remove excess HaemoCer  powder by irrigation
